La Mare, St Michel de Plelan

La Mare is located in the Côtes d’Armor region of Brittany which is famous for its magnificent coastline, especially Cap Frehel, medieval market towns, such as Dinan, and picturesque countryside.

 The hamlet of St Michel de Plélan.is a short cycle ride away for the morning visit to the boulangerie.

 

 

 The nearby town of Plancoet, ‘a ville fleurie,’ has a good range of shops, a well stocked supermarket, banks, restaurants, an imposing church, a regular market and is the source of the local bottled water!

 

 

 

La Mare is well situated for many activities during your stay:

 

 

• Golf: there is a golf course ¼ mile from the house and NE Brittany has over 19 good golf courses
  Horseriding: is available a mile from the house and nearby Lamballe also has a well known equestrian centre
• Walking: the coastal paths or many of the ‘Grandes Randonne’s which make up the French national network of walking paths
• Cycling: the extensive number of local roads, most of which have only light traffic
• Painting:  to take advantage of the special ‘Breton light‘
• Watersports: including wind surfing and water skiing, are available at many beaches
• Bird watching: at Les Sept Iles and other nature reserves throughout the region
• Sightseeing: the coastal highlights of St Malo (walled town), Dinard (the ‘Nice of the North’), and Mont St Michel to the towns of Dinan (medieval centre), Rennes (capital of Brittany)
• Eating and drinking (!): including the excellent local seafood and cider
• Relaxing: in the garden enjoying the Breton countryside
